Why do I need language packs?
Apple Speech and Translation download models on device. Open Languages, select a pair, wait until it says Pair ready for Listen.
Microphone vs Internal Audio?
Microphone captions what your mic hears. Internal Audio uses Broadcast so you can caption video/app audio with a floating caption bar.
Free limit?
Free includes 5 minutes of live captions per day. PRO unlocks unlimited listening when products are available.
Does audio leave my phone?
Caption processing is on-device. We don’t run a caption server that receives your audio.
Listen says downloading?
Wait for the pack to finish, or reopen Languages and select the pair again.
