TwinCaption (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the TwinCaption iOS app handles and how.

1. Summary

TwinCaption is designed for on-device live bilingual captions. Speech audio is processed on your iPhone for transcription and translation. We do not operate a caption server that receives your microphone or screen audio.

2. Information we process on device

• Microphone audio (Microphone mode) — used only to transcribe speech on device while Listen is active.
• Internal / app audio (Internal Audio mode) — captured through Apple’s Broadcast extension while you broadcast, then transcribed on device.
• Language preferences you select in the app.
• Daily free usage timers stored locally on your device.

Audio and caption text are not uploaded to our servers for processing.

3. Purchases

If you buy PRO (when products are available), payment is handled by Apple through StoreKit. We receive an entitlement/receipt status needed to unlock features. We do not receive your full payment card details.

4. Permissions

• Microphone — required for Microphone mode.
• Speech recognition / on-device speech assets — used for live captions.
• Broadcast / screen capture — only when you start Internal Audio mode via the system broadcast picker.

You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings.

5. Apple system frameworks

TwinCaption uses Apple Speech and Apple Translation. Language models may be downloaded by Apple’s system and are managed by Apple.

6. Analytics & advertising

TwinCaption does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell personal information.

7. Children

TwinCaption is not directed to children under 13.

8. Data retention

Captions and usage timers remain on your device unless you delete the app or clear captions in-app.
