Understanding UV Index

FAQ

Why is the UV reading 0?
UV index is naturally 0 at night. Check during daylight hours (roughly 6 AM - 8 PM depending on your location and season).
How often does the data update?
The app fetches fresh weather data each time you open it. The widget updates approximately every 30 minutes.
Can I use a different city?
Yes. Tap the location button at the top-left to choose from 15 preset cities worldwide.
What does "burn time" mean?
It estimates how many minutes your skin can be exposed to the current UV level before sunburn, based on your selected skin type. This is an approximation, not a medical guarantee.
Does the app work offline?
SunSmart requires an internet connection to fetch weather data. Previously loaded data may be visible briefly but will not update.
How do I add the widget?
Long-press your Home Screen, tap "+", search for "SunSmart", and choose your preferred size.
